For the first time, the innovative control valve design was presented by I.N. Karelin, professor RSU of Oil and Gas after I.M. Gubkin, in 1999.

The idea was polished up after obtaining the simulation results, although even the initial design demonstrated its significant advantages compared to analogous equipment which is widely marketed and conventionally used in oil and gas industry

In 2016, we fabricated a pilot specimen which underwent mechanical tests based on which results we gave preference to the passage design in the form of 6-ray star rather than 8-ray that. Thereby, we managed to reduce friction.

In March 2017, we fabricated another pilot specimen ready for field testing.

In March 2018, Test Center 'Pricam Test' at JSC 'Votkinsky Zavod' ran the casing tightness tests.

In March 2019, patents for invention № 2681726 and № 2682468 were issued.

In 2019, Canada National Patent for invention № CA 2999365 was issued.

As of June 23 2020 Standing Committee on Introduction of Innovative Solution to PJSC 'Gazprom' decided to include the Regulator «STAR» in Register of Innovative Solutions for Introduction to PJSC 'Gazprom'. Identification number in the Register 1.13.3.1.

In 2023, bench (TsKTI, St. Petersburg), acceptance (Gazprom UGSF, Izhevsk) and qualification tests (Gazpromdiagnostika testing ground, Saratov) of a small series of RK 200–16 (diameter 200 mm, working pressure 160 atmospheres) were carried out. The goal is to register equipment for Gazprom and other companies in this profile.

PAO Gazprom expressed interest in this equipment. Pilot industrial operation of the equipment has begun at the Karashurskoye UGS (UR).

The regulator was exhibited for the first time at the International Gas Forum 2023 in St. Petersburg (SPGF) at the Gazprom UGSB stand.

In May 2023, the production of a pilot series of products began at the production site in Izhevsk (Urals) according to a newly created design documentation for serial production.

In cooperation with a company from Germany, since 2019, a sample of our product with a drive has been manufactured, the characteristics of which are fundamentally different from all known on this market. Preliminary tests of the product have begun. Due to known circumstances, in 2022, cooperation was suspended.

In December 2024, the first product was included in the register of suppliers of PJSC Gazprom

2024 – construction of production facilities in Yekaterinburg began.
